Jo is an artist and guest of Lenapehoking, aka Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They received their MFA from University of Pennsylvania, exploring transformation, hybridity, and the production of ecological subjecthood. They have been awarded several grants including the Lawrence Shprintz for creativity and are invited to art residencies including Vermont Studio Center. They currently work as a curator at AUTOMAT Gallery in Philadelphia and study creative pedagogy at UMass Amherst. In addition to their studio practice, they write for publications such as Ceramics: Art and Perception, featuring topics in somatic-psychology, relational philosophy, and poetic postactivism.
